Carpet Whipping
Carpet with a whipped (or serged) edge is a continuous wrap of yarn that wraps around the edge of the rug, with a finished width of about 2/3mm on the edge of your carpet. Whipping is a great affordable way to create your rugs, runners, mats or coasters. Its also less restrictive than fabric binding so we can custom make to MOST shapes. There’s also a huge range of colours to choose from in both wool and synthetic yarn. If you are looking for a great cost effective way to create beautiful things for your home, car, or wherever you need them, carpet whipping is the best choice for you. You can shop our ready made items or drop us an enquiry we are happy to help with any questions you have.

Fabric Binding
Binding is typically a more expensive method of finishing a carpet edge. Binding the edge of a carpet involves wrapping a strip of fabric—which is generally made from either polyester or cotton—around the edge of the carpet and stitching it in place. This is done by a carpet-binding machine.
There is a significant number of colours from which to choose in binding but it can be more restrictive when it comes to awkward shapes. By matching the binding to the color of the carpet, the edge of the carpet will blend in but many people want to create a statement by using contrasting and accenting colours on the carpet edge. If you are interested in fabric binding for your waste, remnant or new carpets (maybe for a stair runner or custom rug) then get in touch today; we are happy to help.
